PURCHASING MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION OF CANADA (PMAC)

Supply management training consists of introductory technical courses, soft skills workshops, and business management knowledge. Participants can access either a single course or seminar or can complete the entire package. The intended audience is junior or intermediate practitioners who require a technical competence in supply management. The certificate will also be of interest to others seeking knowledge of supply management at an introductory level.

The Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) Certificate in Supply Management is distinct from the Strategic Supply Chain Management Leadership Program (SSCMLP) and cannot be applied towards Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) accreditation. The Certificate in Supply Chain Management replaces the Certificate in Purchasing.

PMAC Certificate in Supply Chain Management (new in 2009)

PMAC is the leading professional association in the country for supply chain management professionals. With more than 40,000 members and program participants engaged in all sectors of the Canadian economy, including retail, manufacturing, transportation, distribution, government, natural resources, and service sectors, PMAC is the principal source of training, education and professional development for supply chain management professionals in Canada.

Education and member development programs are delivered through the provincial and territorial institutes which are supported by the PMAC national office.

Notes:

Note 1: New Sub-Accreditation Level Concentration Program to replace the certificate in Purchasing:
This is a program targeted at entry-mid level practitioners and other learners seeking to acquire SCM functional knowledge at the operational/tactical level.

Note 2: Previous curriculum components are being phased out with the last offering concluded by June 2009. While the transition has been planned to allow all current registered participants who wish to complete the previous program curriculum a reasonable timeframe to do so, participants should carefully review the program changes and seek clarification from OIPMAC regarding specific implications for program completion and career planning.
