This course is part of the following Program(s): Cabinetmaking Techniques
This course combines theory with hands-on practical application involving a variety of touch-up and repair methodologies. The student learns to identify the level of damage and apply the skills necessary to restore the structural integrity and surface finish to its original condition. Topics involve replacing and repairing broken components, cracks, and shrinkage splits. Techniques in touching-up scratches, dents, water, and heat marks are demonstrated and students apply those skills to prepared wood samples. Later in the course students may bring in a small project to work on. All material costs are included. NOTE: WOO5568 and WOO5000 combined are equal to one credit. |
