Successful completion of Accessible Taxicab Training is mandatory for a taxi driver's licence and employment in the taxi industry. The Accessible Taxicab Training course encompasses skills necessary to operate an accessible taxicab. This course has been designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the diverse needs of passengers with disabilities and provide professional service to all special needs clients. (Note: This course is a requirement for all new taxi drivers. It is also offered as a stand alone course for currently licensed Ottawa taxi drivers wishing to operate an accessible taxi or acquire an accessible taxi plate). |
