The Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) is Canada's foremost coalition of building industry leaders working to promote buildings and communities that are environmentally responsible. The CaGBC's LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) program supports the global adoption of sustainable green building practices and is rapidly becoming the international benchmark for high-performance green buildings. This course is designed to provide students with an in-depth technical understanding of the LEED Canada for New Construction Rating System 1.0. The system is based on a holistic approach to sustainability and recognizes performance in five key areas: sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy efficiency, materials selection, and indoor environmental quality. NOTE: Tuition includes the official CaGBC reference package (the LEED Canada NC Rating System and the 440-page Reference Guide). This course supports those who choose to write the LEED professional accreditation exam, but does not guarantee a student will pass the LEED exam. |
